Entrepreneurs use ideas, workers, land (hired, leased, bought etc), water air power etc to sell product or services at competitive prices. They need buyers. People need products and services and prefer lesser prices. Who do exploit whom?

Appointed Government thinks they will control all activities. So Parliaments enact strings of laws. Bureaucrats used to think they know all. M/s Ambani etc knew to pull the right strings. India got those biggest enterprises. People are getting low price products. Every body forgot about environment and ecology costs and to price it.

Another bunch of business persons are ultra politicians/revolutionists or separatists; highly enterprising thou much destructive. They survive by exploiting disgruntled stake holders of the state who believe others getting more than they deserve. Once established these ultras will show their ugly faces when Government takes counter effective measures. Ultras, commons, live with sword read gun, will perish by the gun. Sustainable Tourism: interesting idea.
Tourism is big business.
Tourism exploits environment. Or it can be said that human want to go places is exploited in tourism. All big animals have to move places but they have patterns of movements.
Ignoramus will start walking, from his house, in early morning with light backpack and after half a day of walk will reach a non star rest house. Next day he will move to next rest house. This will be repeated for six days with one day rest perhaps on fourth day. So we need rest houses 25 Km apart approximately. While crossing a rivers one can not be helped without powered boats, because of non availability of simple boats. But otherwise cycle vans can be used for people who can not walk long stretch. If JNURM and Panchayat are synchronized resting places 25Km apart is possible. Of course there is commerce; and sustainable tourism!

Calcutta of my childhood is now Kolkata. Boodhooram Ignoramus is a new name. My father had wanted, he told me, change his name but did not succeed, too much of hassles. In internet world, it is easier to become a different person.

Nobody, almost, will agree that anybody have the right to roam public places naked. There is nuisance act in many countries to prevent such acts. Luckily there is no such law to prevent a person from making an ass of self, provided no other person has been hurt. That is why this blog exists.
Now, book is a big business. On selling side are publisher, compiler, printer, binders, booksellers wholesaler and retailer, reviewer, critics, writers, illustrators etc. Books are bought for reading and decorating. Book readers are interesting people. Some of them tell about the content of a book just looking at it. Lesser mortals can write book review by turning few pages. On other side of the scale is Boodhooram takes months to read a book. So he buys two three books a year. Libraries buy books in bulk. Usually people buy and read books in concurrence to and for confirmation of his previous ideas and knowledge. Otherwise buying a book to read is costly affairs because of hit & misses. Ignoramus read ‘predictably irrational’ by Dan Ariely last. Is it predictable irrationality?

What is there for man in singing? When in group chorus makes socializing easy. And socializing is connecting many ‘I’. Kolkata is situated in Ganges delta basin and temperate climatic zone. Other than winter three months humidity remains above 80% all the time and mostly 95% daytimes. An electric fan is very essential for minimum comfort. This also helps to disturb attacking mosquitoes and flies.

In Kolkata houses are desired to be south facing. Most of the time of the year cool air comes from seashores 40 miles away in the South. In winter air comes from north. Houses are preferred to be South and East open. If they can afford people make big wooden shuttered windows and ceilings high. And make big verandas to use daylight for daily works. These houses consume less electricity than other houses.

Due to good ancestral decisions Ignoramus is living in such a house. This computer and internet, his addition and addiction, consumes electricity. His cell phone a recent addition consumes energy too.

Cooking is done by gas LPG. A part of it could be done by solar energy, not yet explored in the family.

How to take pictures of foggy morning? That is view from veranda, 1^st floor, of his house. This camera consumes electricity.

Ignoramus was on the bank of Rabindra Sarobar, a lake at Kolkata, in the morning. This public place attracts tens of thousands all age all sex people for morning afternoon walk and play everyday. Arguably this is good place for lovers, at noon and evening, too.

Why is photography prohibited here? It is almost not implement able and unimportant. Today with all sorts of mini gadgets photographing has become undetectable. Perhaps it is a Second World War prohibition. Authority forgot to withdraw the notice.

There are incurable bad people who in the name of power/politics ‘successfully’ engineer riots to kill millions. Ignoramus easily imagine of state leaders, if not checked, can destroy part of the earth, in the name of self defense, with the help of weapon of mass destructions. In the world of business apparently sane people, in the name of ‘success’ and profit, use chemicals or technical processes harmful to mankind or other living creatures. All these together will not dent much in population growth story. One huge debate is raging that there is evidence of environment is heating; are we, humans, the cause. Whatever, if the evidence is true, the effect of heating up will affect population badly.
It is very natural we living creatures love to have sex; survival of gin. Again abstain from sex is also at times natural, survival of gin. To live, procreate, fight for food and sex even die, fight till death for survival of offspring, abandon offspring sometimes, suicide, all for survival of gin, not individual gin but for gin of the species. There is lot more to be discovered.
The laws or rules so far made (by humans) were based on religion/politics/philosophy and/or other non science based knowledge. Those old knowledge bases of religion/rules/laws must now be questioned often with new knowledge. We have many redundant rules and laws; these should not crowd the rule books. Young and old professional politicians run for seats of parliaments, assemblies, municipalities to be part of state power system. We, public, pay, direct and indirect taxes, their salary and pension etc. Often they work for personal gains using state and party positions. How to make them do their work?

The internet connection started to limp once again just now. Sify is an IT company. Ignoramus subscribes broadband (256kb max download) line, Sify is the service provider. Perhaps the statement is not accurate.
Whatever, this line is not working for last twelve days, completely disconnected now. Previously it was interrupted often due to a hitch with 40mts overhead cable or its end connectors, between this computer and nearest node. Perhaps they do not want Ignoramus as customer. Ignoramus used to blame BSNL, the telephone and internet connection provider, for bad services. This blog is consolation for some people of that Government owned organization. Some people really suffer after knowing bad performances of their company. Consolation to them is that private companies, their competitors, are equally bad. (BSNL and Ignoramus were disconnected for long time.)
In India we as consumers are waiting for fairly competitive market, although to some extent privatization is achieved.

Ignoramus goes to office in time. If he does it for thirty years then it is habit of going to office ‘in time’.
For some work culture the statement is right if his usual time of arrival in office, say, 8:40 to 8:59hrs and official time of starting is 09:00hrs. In a system where work starts whenever he reaches office he will be marked irregular. If actual office work starts at, say, 9:48hrs although 09:00hrs remains office time and he arrives at 09:45hrs everyday punctually the statement holds good too for some other work cultures.

As in any other business/professions wheeling dealing is present in politics too. Without that no political party/leaders can survive/grow in India. Revolutionaries/terrorists like any other criminals do their wheeling dealings. Nature of wheeling dealings in politics at times migrates from civil-line towards criminal wilderness. This is not very unexpected because our state-political system (of governance) remained unchanged last sixty years meanwhile operators in politics changed qualitatively. The bunch of freedom fighters turned politicians of sixty years ago are now replaced almost fully by politicians born or brought up in free India; but guiding principles remain hypocritically unaltered. Common man outlooks of ‘politicians as do-gooders’ have to be changed too. Politicians should officially represent different groups and officially take payments for representing. When Mr Arun Jaitley or Mr Somnath Chatterjee represent clients in Supreme Court accept fees. Similarly when school teachers want to change laws they should appoint and pay these representatives officially. In Supreme Court they try to give benefit to their client within the rule of laws. In Parliament they will deliver/reform laws benefiting country and those clients who are also citizens of India.

Apart from Ration Card and Voters photo Identity Card, Ignoramus paid and applied for, and was issued a Passport. Moreover he applied for photo identity card as Income Tax payer and got it flawless. Are those enough to prove that he is a Resident Indian Citizen living in Kolkata? A court case in Assam was recently reported such that person from neighboring countries taking part in election processes as a candidate.

Why does individual indulge in politics? There are big allures namely Ramah Rajya or Communes of equality or violent armed struggle against oppression, etc. Then there are preambles of justice and socialism. These etc are for masses. Some, few in fact, remain in politics for some idealism. Like fire flies they come, many many young hearts, burn their wings of imagination by fire of reality and become simple nuisance. The glamour of holding guns or ruck(en)-sack bombs, to usher a new day is troublesome for so many parents.

Money, power and salute are main stay for both, main stream and gun totting politics. Money comes from robbery, extortion, embezzlement, arm twisting, non-Government taxing etc. For registered Parties eye wash of donation and cess is regulation only.

Voter identity card is also one useful tool to prove nationality, sometimes accepted as address proof. But there are rumors that political parties arrange voter card and ration cards often more than one for verified members/supporters.

After sixty years of independence India became democratic. Today fashion is coalition to run Governments. More views and ideas, right or wrong, are being accommodated. Grandeur of aristocracy and statesmanship in old Governments, legacy of imperial culture, is no more. Criminals (convicted or not) dominating Parliament and Ministries. Some of cabinet ministers, even if they could manage an appointment, might not get Government job confirmation due to their criminal records. Each and every Parliamentarian talk about ‘amm admi’ but election system is so cumbersome that no common man can reach even a Panchayat without some political muscle.

But how an ‘am admi’ can prove that he is Resident Indian citizen?

Ration Cards are a corrupting nuisance. System is that if Ignoramus does not use the card two consecutive weeks the card become invalid or dormant or whatever. So a ration card is a proof of your address and residence partly. He likes it or not, has to arrange presentation of the card at the shop alternate week, at least, to revalidate the document of residence and to buy anything useless. Sometimes things in shop are good but mostly they are of very bad quality. Secondly card holders have no choices; he is tied to one (fair price) shop only for ever.

Days of scarcity haunts Bengal/India. So the Governments maintain big largely idle and perhaps wasteful machinery to distribute food and other essential items in time of famine. Rationing system is now used to distribute/channel substandard items/materials to poor and unsuspecting people.

Resident Indian / Non Resident Indian and People of Indian Origin may or may not be Citizen of India. Foreign Born migrated to India can become citizen of India too.

Can a ration card be issued to a foreigner? Ignoramus has no answer at present.

People need roads. Roads are mostly public property; some can be privately owned by institution or individual. In India engine powered vehicles and man/animal muscle powered vehicles ply on same public road along with pedestrians, is a big cause of daily accidents.

In First World Cities pedestrians without doubt get 1^st right of way on paths. Vehicles (two, three, four, six, ten, eighteen wheeled) use roads. Vehicles are parked in predetermined places and people ride on vehicles from predetermined places. Markets are places to buy and to sell. Here carts are allowed.

Where powered vehicles ply shops and markets need be disallowed. In third world countries, our weird brain leaders’ sympathies are with path/road occupier men, such as hawkers/traders. Pedestrian looses the right of way. Killing fields of pedestrians can be places of bread earning of many.

Road act/rule was made many years ago. Road conditions changed much. Under pressure new road practices emerged which violets laws and rules. Ignoramus think time is ripe to change road rules in India.

Rabindranagar Music Circle organized 3^rd Annual Indian Classical music conference before turn of the year. Date was 29^th December 2007.

Starter was served by Smt Rimpa Siva on a pair of Tablas in the evening. Night was shared/divided amongst three. Rupak Kulkarni used flute, Pandit Budhaditya used a Sitar and Pandit Ajoy simply sang till morning was confirmed. Tabla accompanists were Anubrata Chatto, Rajkumar Mish, and Indranil Bhad respectively.

Ignoramus does many things without knowing why he did it. He stopped to go music conferences after he had realized that he is tuneless. Forgetfully he went to listening music in this function. Luckily beautiful Blu, her lively lady friend Sanchary and her lovely Baudi were seating around and so the music was very very good indeed.

Why Sunday? Why Sunday is a holiday? Every day of the week can be holiday. This will certainly reduce emission of Carbon Dioxide. All shops, offices and factories will remain open all seven days of the week, morning to night, if ‘they’ want to, so that fewer establishments will serve more people. Who are they? Customers, workers, owners and rest of the society all should consent.

Some amount of money is being deducted from salary and paid as Income Tax. Whenever one buys something or service, an amount is being set aside as Service Tax, Sale Tax, Excise duty etc. Time tested system is old one, look from the dawn of world history, and is contentiously evolving. Also there are Property Tax, Estate Duty, Inheritance Duty, Entrance Tax etc. Pool of Money collected this way is being spent to deliver goods and Services collectively to the societies and individuals at normal times and emergencies. The jobs are being done by servants of the states, NGOs, licensed private parties etc.

One such agency is Police department. Servants of states in these institutions are arguably fully trained and programmed to face crooks, robbers, terrorist, mobs etc. What was then Rizwanur Rehman, a humbly employed young graphic artist, now a dead man, was doing at Lal Bazaar the Police Headquarter of Calcutta/Kolkata? He, so far an unblemished character, was ‘invited’ for a ‘talk’ with uniformed Police Officers, whose salaries are being paid from Tax money perhaps Rizwanur also paid. Published news so far is that the point of discussion was ‘abduction’ of Pryanka daughter of very rich man/friend of Big Shots. Pryanka and Rizwanur both adults, somewhat educated, believer in state and its institutions, had valid Marriage certificate. Rizwanur, a dead body found in unnatural circumstances, is buried by family, after inconclusive autopsy, naturally.

Moral: Service of Servant Officers of the States can be over-bought by rich mans cut money.

Disbelief in non-believing

This world is heating up, rate of heating not yet fixed, almost all observatories are saying. Is it a natural phenomena or an artificial manly doctoring? (Some may believe it’s a god wish.) Is it possible that both are correct?

Begging is a livelihood. Giving alms to the needy, a must in almost all religions originating in Asia, is ingrained in Indian culture too. Large number of people in Asia has to choose begging as livelihood.

Robin Hood is a romantic idea. Robbing as livelihood is chosen profession for only small number of people. Number of thieves is bigger than that of robbers. Sex working is livelihood for considerable some. Soldiers, mercenary and military, are in livelihood of fighting wars.

Hunting and gathering are most primitive livelihoods; modern people can not hope to take. But fishing as livelihood is still popular. Agriculture is choice for largest chunk of mankind as livelihood. Variety of livelihoods in agriculture and horticulture is innumerable almost.

Ignoramus is half century old self centered, selfish and myopic in thinking. He is very much used to point fingers at others for any/all trouble and averse to taking any responsibility. Natural justice and Constitution of India, are those two compatible?

Livelihood is one focus point for alternate development and growth. Sex is a focal point of life. Entertainments are misty points people strive for. Ignoramus will be encouraged to think those together. Prostitutes are example of livelihood of sex. ‘Why Sex is Fun’ by Mr Jared Diamond --->- evolution ->- gin ->- sex became fun. Fun is part of or one part of entertainment. Boodhooram can not, unable to, think prostitution as fun of a livelihood. If livelihood is fun for some but not sexy to others (like over ambitious parents typical Indian and Chinese middle class) conflict may occur. Livelihood of DJ(disk jockey), is business of entertainment, one must get fun out of this job to continue with it; asexy people will not survive in this profession.

International Labour Organization (ILO) gave out numbers stating that service sector surpassed farm sectors as biggest employer world over. Livelihood out of services can be in organized and unorganized sectors and as self employment.

Ignoramus can buy service of Bhoolooram, self employed expert, to throw acid upon Boodhooram, or Boodhooram (a tycoon or politician) can ask service of Ignoramus (a journalist), to expose Bhoolooram, (a goon who did not comply). Both are schemes of livelihood, sustainable type.

The first job of this country that is the post of President is for a change. Present president has become almost an Indian idol, too big for His shoo. And He is not, at least, publicly a ‘yes Madam’. Be the change

That you want to see in the world. ‘Be the change’ is definitely not enough; this is one of the steps to enact change and not the first step either. This one step alone will not change the world of Boodhooram. Ignoramus has to meet people who are ready for same type of change, together they will give a harder push to change. That is how a political party starts or NGO. It should be vehicle for a change; but very soon degenerates into power hungry or money minting machine. So called leaders extract power/fund out of party/NGO. Members start to expect favors instead of being effective contributors and participants for change. Institution of changes will better be a time-bound process; do it and/or leave it.

Boodhooram world is changing, likes it or not. Sometime he fails to step accordingly and becomes out of synch. Often changes are undesirable but one has to trudge on. That is reactivity.

Why, where, what and when change is required? Independent mind and clarity of thinking are required. Alternately go for change blindly and only hope for the best. Sometime desperation may work.

Boodhooram never fail to name Mr. Steven Covey (7 Habits) whenever one talk about pro-activity.

Leadership is a highly valued quality. High value Leaders are change agents.

People are becoming redundant, in their middle ages due to rapid change of technology and of business practices. Business heroes and star industrialists become outdated in no time. Continuous updating of skills and knowledge is order of the day. There is no escape. Outlook towards life has to change also. Homemaking is now a unisex job traditionally was woman affair. Ignoramus found some are good homemakers irrespective of sex, whereas some people are good office goers or business persons.

Processes of living happily are now rarely naturally learnt. And till today ignoramus could not find one institution who could teach it scientifically. In this highly complex life of today unhappiness roars. It is now accepted university sprouts are not ready productively employable; to make them employable finishing schools spring up. Schools are their where homemaking (in a different name) is taught. Now is the time for schools to learn living happily scientifically. Ignoramus wants to be a peon to the principal of this institution.

Some of recent High and Supreme Court judgments are the causes of itching at some corners of society (in India).
It is not overreaching for judiciary, down slide of legislature is the cause. Ignoramus do not blame the peoples reps. the processes of getting voted to power is defective. To run an election battle candidates had to arrange huge fund and army of able volunteers. Winners are usually good managing masters and mostly not good legislators.

Cabinet ministers are now alleged to be murderers and money usurpers. Some are convicted; some are able to delay conviction. Those elected legislators are occupied in their day to day business of money usurping, dacoitying, human trafficking, back biting, groping and grouping, etc. A good legislator need time to read, to write and to communicate. Ignoramus think legislation is gentlemen’s job who has time and training to think. Legislature is a group of specialists in law in particular and at least in one other field.

One way to reduce temptation from becoming a member of legislature is to elimination of office of profits. Let us please think of legislating dissociation of parliaments from ministries, those offices of profits.
