Common vocal public spelled Prez Kalam as their choice. Leaders, almost all wheeler-dealers, are doing maths of political power. Some are mouthing his name, not from heart. What do they want for a president? Do they want the best rubber stamp non-entity to serve their purposes? Mrs. Gandhi, numero uno for her Congress, told clearly she needs to show she is the chooser, not the public. Pseudo rational intellectuals, that lefty group of parties, are with her. Fabricators of our Constitution did not rely on public for that choice of President, neither prime minister choice is left to public.
