Alternate way of filling time is to think of alternate development and growth. Ignoramus wants to be ready for new ideas of growth and alternate development. It has to come. Present developments are mostly becoming unsustainable and very much destructive. And growths are, arguably, becoming unwanted.

(Can we shorten the list of our wants? Is this keying on the computer destructive or a part of growth?)
